proof your bird feeder with a simple to make squirrel blockade
for your backyard bird feeder. A great baffle for blocking our bushy
tailed friends. Squirrel proof your bird feeder made simple by
SquirrelHopper ™ It is quick, easy and cheap. The cost of
materials are so low it is almost FREE.
Items Needed:
1. A discarded Nursery planting pot that is approximately 12
inches tall by 12 inch Diameter.
2. 1 package (4) 1 1/2 inch Corner Braces.
3. 1 hose clamp to fit pole or screws if it is a wooden pole.
Cut a hole in the center of the
bottom. Round hole for a round post that is 1/4 inch larger in
diameter than the post. If a square wood post, make the hole square
with 1/4 inch added to width and length.
About 6 inches down from the top of
the post, mount your corner braces with the hose clamp or screws if
a wood post. Be sure the braces are about 4 feet above the ground or
more.
Place your pot on the post upside
down and you now have a squirrel proof bird feeder. Make sure your
feeder is 6 to 8 feet away
from adjacent branches or buildings; otherwise squirrels will learn
to jump onto your feeder.
